Chest-supported dumbbell row

The bench supports your chest while both arms row. This reduces the effort needed to hold your torso in position.

Step by step

  1. Set the backrest to about 45 degrees and rest your chest against it.
  2. Plant your feet. Let both dumbbells hang with palms facing inward.
  3. Draw your elbows back and guide the weights toward your hips.
  4. Lower slowly, keeping your chest against the pad.

Common mistakes

  • Lifting the chest off the bench.
  • Swinging the weights or shrugging the shoulders.
